PEDAGOGICAL PRICIPLES OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION

Deterioration of morals, ethics, and decrease of nation achievement is a strong indication that this nation is facing various dilemmas. If it does not have any solution that can be found we will face more complicated problems. Character and culture education is considered as one solution to minimize shallow understanding against the noble values of the Indonesian nation. How can Ibnu khaldun’s pedagogical principles be integrated into Indonesian Schools to provide perfect human beings (insan kamil)? (Mr.YAUMI)

FOR me.., Ibnu khaldun’s pedagogical principles can be integrated in Indonesians school by starting from scratch.it means…the educational methods which we apply all this time have to be changed and try to apply new methods as what ibnu khaldun said in his article about pedagogical principles of islamic education.
How to create a good quality education should be start from basic level it is children or kindergarten level, because in this phase is like a vacant land which is ready for established building .firstly, children have to be taught and mentored to be creative and appreciate other people’s opinion by using discussion groups strategy, provide materials and simple tools like a piece of paper, scissors, and glue then give them opportunity to create anything they like with those materials. By applying this method means we have built the strong foundation for young lerners (kindergarten).secondly, we have to build the pillar above foundation.it means the learners who has become teen have to get special treatment as well as the next phases.
The main point is in integrating ibnu khaldun pedagogical principles into Indonesian schools is a good idea to provide a perfect human beings (insan kamil) because it is begin it from the first level, the level that the firs time the human beings is formed and processed. How Strong or weak of the foundation of the children depends on how the teachers teach, form, and guide them.
our prophet MUHAMMAD s.a.w said, every child born in a state of nature, the person who makes it Jewish or Zoroastrian or a Christian is his/her parents.

EDUCATION SISTEM IN MOSLEM SOCIETIES

One of the western scientists, Jean Piaget, said that children’s development depends on stages of cognitive development. They are sensory-motor (birth-2 yrs), where the children are able to  differentiates self from objects , pre-operational (2-7 years), learn to use language and to represent objects by images and words, concrete operational (7-11 years), can think logically about objects and events, formal operational (11 years and up)  can think logically about abstract propositions and test hypotheses systematically.  On the other hand, Prophet Muhammad said: ‘Learn science from the cradle to the grave.'  Is the development dependent on the age or learning process? Include at least three reasons to support your argument.   (Mr.YAUMI)

For me, … if the Question is the development dependent on the age or learning process? So the answer is both are two things which can not be separated from the discussion of children’s development because they have very closely correlation to it. Basically , there are two strong concepts about development the first concept is from western scientist ,Jean Piaget said that children’s development depends on stage of cognitive development. They are sensory motor ,operational, concrete operational , formal operational .I am sure that this theory based on strong research and observation. Second concept is from our prophet MUHAMMAD S.A.W said :’ Learn Science from the cradle to the grave’.
These two arguments have each reasons why is it. the age or learning process both are the same as having an important role towards the development of children . If we see to jean Piaget theory. Shows that on every person has the following intelligence from birth. so every stage of children age has influences to their development. Whereas , according to our prophet Muhammad saw. The development is influenced by environment where the child live in. because how high level of intelligence of a child will be able to be influenced by the surrounding environment, including family.so for me ,actually the development dependent on learning process on the grounds that :
       1) intelligence level of someone can be changed because some things one of them is environment human brain constantly receives information from what is visible to the eye, the terrace by the five senses,,.
       2) When a child is born, he/she comes with a brain ready and eager to learn. The brain is very much like a new computer. It has great potential for development, depending on what we put into it. Early experiences greatly influence the way a person develops.
       3) As babies grow, they learn that they are not the center of the universe and that they can depend on others. They develop a trust or mistrust of others. As toddlers, they learn to be proud of their accomplishments and state their opinions and desires. As they become preschoolers, children learn to separate from their parents and adjust to the school environment. They begin to participate in classroom activities. They learn to take turns and to solve conflicts using words. They begin to learn to control their emotions. They learn that it is okay to make a mistake. They develop confidence in themselves and learn to love themselves.
So, the main point is the development of children is influenced by learning process as what our prophet Muhammad said. Thanks….!!!

AL FARABI'S PERSPECTIVE ON ISLAMIC EDUCATION

Report to UNESCO of the International Commission on Education for the Twenty-first Century that education throughout life is based upon four pillars: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be. Explain your point of view, how UNESCO’s four pillars of education can reach perfect human being (al-insan al-kamil).  Are those pillars enough  or is there anything missing? (Mr. YAUMI)
For me, The four pillars of education , : learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be are enough to be perfect human on the grounds that the first goal the human learn something is start from asking questions such as : what is that/this?who is that/this? How is that/this?.it means..learning to know, human learn something to know what is it.
Based on knowledge they begin to do something whether it is good or bad deeds it depends on how they interpret it .then they begin to think that they can not live alone but need to live with other people therefor they try to build social community to live together.
After that they start thinking to be what they want such as some of them decide to be a president, and the other think to be businessmen, traders, and teachers. choice of different professions was the attitude of every people to determine their own way of life.that four stages are is a series of four pillars of education according to what was raised by UNESCO as a goal to reach perfect human being.
thanks…….!!

THE ISLAMIC CONCEPT OF KNOWLEDGE

Islam and the West have different point of view about knowledge. The term knowledge in Islam is called 'ilm that refers to all-embracing term covering theory, action and education. Knowledge in the Western world means information about something, divine or corporeal. Muslims claim that no other religion or ideology has so much emphasized the importance of 'ilm. The West, however, has successfully used the knowledge to establish civilization. What do you think about the application of knowledge in the Moslem world and the West right now? Include data as well as scientific reason to support your argument. (Mr.YAUMI)
For me, the application of knowledge in moslem world and the west right now is interesting thing to discuss because basically, between moslem and west both are very different, not only about credo but also culture .if we are talking about knowledge application in this new era absolutely we will judge that moslem has left behind from west. because of great civilization that west has built .such as modern technology, chemistry, and architecture .that situation sometimes makes us think ,why it happened ??what is wrong with moslem today??
whereas ,history recorded that islam has ever achieve greatness in 8 to 18 century which is caused of moslem scientists who has invented the theoretical sciences which is we can see and we fill right now.such as Muslim mathematicians devised and developed algebra Al-Khawarazmi used Arabic numerals which came to the west through his work-9th century. Al-Razi described amd treated smallbox-10th century Ibn Sina diagnosed and treated meningities-11th century Ibn al-Haytham discovered the camera obscura- 11th century Al-Birini described the Ganges Valley as a sedimentary basin-11th century Muslims built the first observartory as a scientific institution-13th century Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi explained the cause of the rainbow- 13th century Ibn al-Nafis described the minor ciculation of the blood- 14th century. Al-Kashani invented a computer machine- 15th century
Based on the explanation above ,than the answer is that the cause why moslem left behind from west, not because of west more diligent than moslem but it is because of we(moslem) never appreciate to what has been inherited by scientists to us as their generation. So that the sciences which ever goes away by it self. Whereas, westerner always keep what existing and try to maintain and develop their ability and goods.so easily for them to establish the great civilization in this world.
The main point is,if moslem can explore their potential and ability, iam sure that islam can achieve the return to glory and establish the civilization beyond the west. InsyaAllah .

A CONCEPTION OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION

Some people said that conception of education does not have any roots in Islam. If there is a term, it is limited only for implying that Islamic education omits secular knowledge. The other might assume that it is shorthand for hatred teaching of western civilization. How do you think this opinion? Write at least three reasons to support your argument. You may agree or disagree with those.(Mr.YAUMI)
i disagree when islam justified as a shorthand for hatred teaching of western civilization and conception of education does not have any root in islam but different interpretation about islam is a natural thing because every people has each approach to see what is islam actually. And iam sure that the people who justified islam as a dangerous religion or leaft behind from other religion.they only know little bit of islam so that they are mistaken in giving judgement. Basicly, islam a religion which is always teach kindness and peace. According to Ulis tofa Lc,islam is a peaceful religion, a religion of tolerance, religion that upholds humanitarian and to oppose damage or murder, a massive well done or to individuals. i have three reasons which are make me disagree with the other people who has negative view about islam.
firstly, if the conception of education does not have root in islam or it teach hatred,i assure that islam has lost in this word.because it can not follow the development era.
Secondly, islam is religion.it means no one religion in this world which is teach its followers to make the damage and kill each other including Islam.
Thirdly, In holy Qur'an Allah SWT said "Whoever kills a human being unless it be to kill someone else (not because qishash), or for spreading mischief in the earth, then as if he killed all mankind, and whoever maintains the life of a human being, then as if he has maintained fully human life. "Al-Maidah: 32
discussing about Islam is very very complicated and interesting to discussed.i am happy....!
